What Oil Does Chick Fil A Use – NOTE: Chick-fil-A’s famous chicken sandwich has 55 ingredients, including MSG, Sodium Aluminum Phosphate, Potassium Iodate, and Dimethylpolysiloxane. Additives are linked to several health risks, and some are banned or strictly prohibited in other countries. Chick-fil-A has made good progress in eliminating antibiotics, high fructose corn syrup, and TBHQ from its supply chain, but it still has a long way to go. Chick-fil-A’s new Mac & Cheese is primarily made with “Produced Cheese Spread” — which is like canned cheese — and “Margarine.” Food Babe investigates food brands and restaurants, discovering the truth about food. I had an early love affair with Chick-fil-A. When I was in college, I ate there at least 3 to 4 times a week, sometimes more. I would pick up one of the sandwiches on the way home from the gym and I thought they were healthy because they were only 400 calories. If I knew then what would I do now.

One of my first restaurant searches was Chick-fil-A (about 7 years ago!) That’s when I posted the ingredients for a chicken sandwich on my personal Facebook page and got a strong reaction from friends and family – all shocked “No. one will stop me don’t eat 100 of these delicious ingredients…”

Chick Fil A Taps Into The Biofuel Trend By Turning Fry Oil Into Diesel

Ha ha, yes, I used to think that sandwich was delicious. But I finally got to a point in my life where I realized that eating “food” full of artificial additives made me feel and look horrible. It’s not worth it.

I then wrote several blog posts about Chick-fil-A in the summer of 2012, exposing the unholy ingredients in the company’s sandwiches for antibiotics, MSG, artificial food coloring, GMOs and TBHQ (1). This finally got the attention of Chick-fil-A executives, and to my surprise they invited me to the facility for a consultation on how to replace the ingredients. I came to them with a laundry list of what it would take to improve their diet. I tried to convince them that they would be surprised how many people would choose a clean, natural chicken sandwich, if there was one. And if Chick-fil-A makes a vegan menu item, I promise to rent cow clothes or something and drive up and down the aisles on live TV. That promise remains!

Unfortunately, it might be a while before you see me walking around in a Chick-fil-A fun cow outfit…

They have done a great job of implementing a no-antibiotics-never policy for chickens – the #1 suggestion I made (2). They also throw in TBHQ and high fructose corn syrup – another suggestion they made (3). Then they made a big announcement about ditching artificial colors in sauces a few years later (4). Yes…

The same artificial coloring is still in the pickles found in almost every Chick-fil-A sandwich. And there are dozens of health damaging additives still in the diet.

What else is in a Chick-fil-A sandwich, and should you eat it or feed it to your kids? Come see, it’s an eye opener…

This is the complete list of ingredients in Chick-fil-A sandwiches – some items appear more than once because they are used in many ingredients, such as chicken, and again in coffee.

1. Boneless Chicken Breasts – Not organic or grass-fed, Chick-fil-A chickens are raised in large barns where the chickens likely spend less time outside (5).

3. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) – What makes Chick-fil-A sandwiches so addictive? This stuff is the biggest culprit! MSG is a flavor enhancer and excitotoxin that causes brain cells to die, increases appetite, and makes you eat more than you need to (6).

5. Condiments – We asked Chick-fil-A what exactly is in the “chili” in the Chick-fil-A sandwich and they said that condiments:

7. Bleached Wheat Flour – Refined flour treated with bleach to make it whiter faster. They have no nutritional value and are essentially dead foods, so they are “supplemented” with unnatural synthetic vitamins (6).

10. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) – Not enough MSG is added to the chicken, so it is also added to the coating.

13. Sodium Aluminum Phosphate – Stabilizer containing aluminum, linked to neurological problems, and EWG’s gross twelve additive Watch List (9).

16. Soybean Oil – One of the most unhealthy vegetable oils known to increase the risk of obesity, inflammation, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and autoimmune disease (6). It is likely made from GMO soybeans, which have been shown to contain higher residues of the herbicide glyphosate (Monsanto’s Roundup) compared to non-GMO soybeans. Glyphosate is considered a carcinogen by the World Health Organization (WHO). To extract the oil, soybeans are usually refined using chemicals that contain hexane, bleach, and toxic deodorizers (6).

21. Perfect Nut Oil – Oil that is processed and treated with smelly chemicals. All the heat and processing that goes into it creates free radicals (10) – which are rogue molecules that damage the body’s cells, causing many diseases from liver damage (11) to cancer (12). Peanut oil is also high in omega-6 fatty acids that promote harmful inflammation in the body.

22. Dimethylpolysiloxane – The main ingredient in Silly Putty is used as an anti-foaming agent in cooking oil. This substance is also used as a breast filler, which has been removed for safety reasons, but is considered “safe” to eat (6). It can also be preserved with formaldehyde according to the FDA.

23. Enriched wheat flour – refined flour with the healthy part removed. The refining process removes most of the fiber, vitamin E, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, and B vitamins from the grain. Some synthetic (not natural) vitamins are added back to “boost” (6).

25. Sugar – This is the 3rd time that refined sugar has been added, this time for coffee. The whole sandwich contains 5 grams of sugar – the equivalent of eating about one teaspoon of concentrated sugar.

27. Soybean Oil – This is the 2nd time this unhealthy oil has been found in this sandwich, and it’s coming again.

28. Wheat Gluten – Additive is an isolated form of gluten, which is already present in wheat flour used in bread. Added to add texture.

32. Calcium Sulfate – Also known as “plaster of paris”, this ingredient is used in some breads for many reasons, mostly as a dough conditioner/strengthening agent (13).

33. Monoglycerides – emulsifiers made from oils containing partially hydrogenated canola and soybean oils – which contain artificial trans fats, are potential sources of trans fats. Even small amounts of trans fats are considered harmful to the heart (6).

34. DATEM – Another source of trans-fats, dough conditioners are usually found in soybean or canola oil (GMO crop) (6).

35. Calcium Propionate – Considered safe, but research published in the Journal of Pediatrics links “irritability, restlessness, inattention and sleeplessness in some children” to its use. long term has been shown to damage the lining of the stomach and cause ulcers (6). ).

36. Ascorbic/Citric Acid – Although citric acid is found naturally in lemons and other fruits, the additive form usually comes from molds made from GMO corn. Ascorbic acid is a synthetic form of vitamin C that is usually found in corn as well.

38. Soy Lecithin – Another highly processed product from GMOs. Like soybean oil, it is extracted from GMO soybeans with the neurotoxin hexane (14).

39. Potassium Iodate – This additive is banned in flour in Europe and many other countries because it can affect thyroid function (15) but in the United States it can be used as a leavening agent for dough.

40. Soybean Oil – The butter-like substance in smoothies is not butter. Instead of real butter, Chick-Fil-A uses a colored oil that tastes like butter. Unhealthy soybean oil is the main ingredient.

41. Palm Kernel Oil – This semi-solid oil is used by the industry as a fat-free alternative to partially hydrogenated oil (which was recently banned). Unfortunately, not only is it unhealthy for the body, but farming kills orangutans and destroys rainforests (16). This substance should be banned.

43. Natural Flavor – The difference between natural and organic flavors is that natural flavors come from things that exist in nature. Natural flavors are a mixture of chemicals and can contain up to 100 ingredients, including sodium benzoate, glycerin, potassium sorbate, and propylene glycol (not labeled) (17).

44. Beta Carotene – Additive of yellow color derived from vegetables or processed
